Comfort & Sedation Dentistry
Relaxed, Comfortable Care
We understand that visiting the dentist isn't easy for everyone. Whether you've had a difficult dental experience in the past, experience anxiety during treatment, or simply feel nervous about an upcoming procedure, our team is committed to helping you feel comfortable, supported, and at ease every step of the way.
At Grace Dental, compassionate care begins with listening. We'll take the time to understand your concerns, explain your treatment thoroughly, and recommend comfort options that help you feel more relaxed throughout your visit.
For patients who may benefit from additional support, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation. These safe, effective options help reduce anxiety while allowing you to remain awake, responsive, and comfortable during treatment.
Your Comfort Options
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a gentle inhaled sedative that helps you relax during your appointment while remaining fully awake. Its effects wear off quickly after treatment, allowing most patients to resume their normal daily activities.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedation uses prescription medication taken before your appointment to help you feel calm and relaxed throughout treatment. While you'll remain conscious and able to respond to instructions, many patients remember very little of the procedure afterward. Because the medication can cause drowsiness, you'll need someone to drive you to and from your appointment.
Safe, Personalized Care
Sedation helps reduce anxiety and improve comfort, but it is not a substitute for local anesthesia. We still carefully numb the treatment area to ensure your procedure is as comfortable as possible.
Your health and safety are always our highest priorities. Before recommending sedation, we'll review your medical history, medications, and treatment needs to determine the most appropriate option for you.
For patients who require IV sedation or general anesthesia, we are happy to coordinate care with trusted specialists to ensure you receive treatment in the safest and most appropriate setting.
Our goal is simple: to help every patient feel comfortable, confident, and cared for while receiving the highest quality dental treatment.
